People Power Party to Promote 'K-One Pass' for Unlimited Nationwide Public Transit at 60,000 Won per Month

Offered to Teens and Twenties for 50,000 Won per Month

Kwon Youngse, Emergency Response Committee Chairman of the People Power Party, announced on April 24 that the party will promote the K-One Pass, which allows unlimited use of buses, subways, and village buses nationwide for 60,000 won per month.

At the Emergency Response Committee meeting held at the National Assembly that day, Chairman Kwon stated, "We will integrate the scattered public transportation support policies into one, so that everyone can conveniently enjoy the benefits anywhere in the country."

Chairman Kwon pointed out, "Currently, different support systems are being operated by region, such as the government K-Pass, Seoul Climate Companion Card, Gyeonggi The Nuri Pass, Incheon i-Pass, Busan Dongbaek Pass, and Gwangju G-Pass, making it difficult for people to conveniently enjoy the benefits. In particular, when people have to travel across metropolitan areas, such as living in Gyeonggi Province and commuting to Seoul, they have to endure significant inconvenience."

The K-One Pass will be offered to people in their teens and twenties at a discounted price of 50,000 won per month. He emphasized, "The essence of politics is to create changes that people can actually feel," and added, "Taxpayer money should not be used for populist welfare, but to truly change people's lives."

Meanwhile, Chairman Kwon criticized Lee Jaemyung, a presidential candidate of the Democratic Party, saying, "He is pushing for a pledge to directly control the national budget." He pointed out that Lee's pledge is "to take away the Ministry of Economy and Finance's authority over budget formulation and transfer it under the presidential office," and called it "a dangerously reckless idea to use taxpayers' money as a tool for populism."
