Agreement Signed with Universidad Autonoma de Chile to Foster Korea-Chile SME and Startup Cooperation
The Korea SMEs and Startups Agency (KOSME) announced on April 24 that it had signed a business agreement with Universidad Autonoma de Chile in Santiago, Chile, to establish a cooperative ecosystem for SMEs and startups between Korea and Chile.
This agreement was promoted as part of the Ministry of SMEs and Startups' "Support Measures for the Globalization of SMEs and Startups." According to KOSME, the agreement is the result of the international recognition achieved by the regular educational program based on Korean startup technology, which was jointly operated last year by the KOSME Santiago Global Business Center (GBC) and Universidad Autonoma de Chile.

Among the joint educational programs operated last year, the practical course that combined Korean startups' cosmetics marketing solutions with artificial intelligence (AI) technology received a strong response from local university students and enhanced the promotional effect of Korean SMEs' technologies.
Under the agreement, the two organizations will actively cooperate in the following areas: developing and operating programs to support the entry of Korean SMEs into Chile; exchanging information to foster and attract investment for startups in both countries; and promoting startup acceleration programs.
In particular, KOSME plans to create successful cases of global expansion in the Latin American market by connecting outstanding graduates of its "Youth Startup Academy" with the startup support infrastructure of Universidad Autonoma de Chile.
Chairman Kang Seokjin stated, "This business agreement goes beyond simple technology exchange; it will serve as a model case for Korea-Chile cooperation and as a bridge connecting the startup ecosystems of both countries," adding, "By leveraging KOSME's global network and expertise in supporting startups, we will actively support promising domestic startups in their expansion into Latin America."
