[Conference Call] SK Hynix: "DRAM Share of Sales Expands to 80% This Year... Driving Profitability Improvement"

On April 24, during its 2025 first quarter earnings conference call, SK Hynix stated, "Due to the impact of seasonal off-peak demand, a decrease in sales volume, and a decline in NAND prices, revenue fell and operating profit also decreased slightly compared to the previous quarter." The company added, "However, the operating margin for the highly profitable DRAM segment improved slightly, and DRAM's share of total sales increased from 74% in the previous quarter to 80% this quarter, which led to an overall improvement in the company's operating margin compared to the previous quarter."

The company further explained, "By product, DRAM profitability improved quarter-on-quarter, as sales of high-margin products such as High Bandwidth Memory (HBM) 3E and Double Data Rate (DDR) 5 expanded, despite a decline in conventional product prices. For NAND, although revenue decreased due to lower prices and reduced sales volume, the segment maintained profitability."
