Hyundai Department Store Group Partners with Nestle to Expand Healthcare Business

Total Healthcare Specialty Store Opens at Hyundai Department Store Mokdong Branch
"Driving Healthcare Business Expansion... Plans to Launch Comprehensive Healthcare Platform"

On April 24, Hyundai Department Store Group announced that it will actively expand its healthcare business by partnering with the global healthcare company Nestle Health Science.

The group plans to open a specialized healthcare store at Hyundai Department Store that brings together Nestle Health Science's health functional food brands in one location. In addition, it will introduce new health supplement brands, thereby expanding the domestic distribution of Nestle Health Science brands.

Hyundai Bioland, Hyundai Department Store Group’s comprehensive healthcare company, will open the total healthcare specialty store “Nestle Health Science Store” on the second basement floor of Hyundai Department Store Mokdong branch on April 25. This multi-brand store will feature more than 140 products from around 10 of Nestle’s leading brands, including the premium vitamin brand Solgar, the number one collagen brand in the United States Vital Proteins, the electrolyte drink brand Nuun, and the New Zealand natural ingredient-based supplement brand Go Healthy, all in one place.

In its “Vision 2030” announced in 2021, Hyundai Department Store Group identified bio and healthcare as core new growth areas for the group’s sustainable development. The group has since accelerated its expansion into healthcare, including signing a strategic business partnership agreement with Nestle Health Science in 2023. Nestle Health Science owns 25 health supplement and medical food brands, including Solgar and Vital Proteins. It is a global company with a worldwide research network, leading the health supplement market.

Going forward, Hyundai Bioland plans to introduce an additional health management service in the store, utilizing Hyundai Green Food’s proprietary AI nutrition counseling solution “GreetingX.” This service will recommend not only health supplements but also fresh and processed foods tailored to individual nutritional needs.

Hyundai Department Store Group intends to drive the expansion of its healthcare business, starting with the operation of the Nestle Health Science Store. The group is also planning to launch a “comprehensive healthcare platform” that brings together its healthcare capabilities. This will be an upgraded version of the Nestle Health Science Store, combining new offline offerings such as “Fittamin,” a personalized health supplement store operated through an investment in the digital healthcare startup Kick the Hurdle, and “Greeting Store,” Hyundai Green Food’s flagship care food specialty store.

The group also plans to actively expand the domestic distribution of Nestle Health Science brands. In addition to Go Healthy and Nuun, which were launched this year, it will introduce additional health supplement brands that align with domestic health management trends.

A representative from Hyundai GF Holdings, the holding company of Hyundai Department Store Group, stated, “The healthcare sector, including health functional foods, is expected to generate strong synergy with the group’s manufacturing and distribution platforms. We will continue to actively build a differentiated healthcare business ecosystem through collaboration with Nestle Health Science, our core partner in the group’s healthcare business.”
