Some Koryo Eundan "Multivitamin All-in-One" Products Recalled

Certain products of the health functional food brand Koryo Eundan's "Multivitamin All-in-One" have been suspended from sale and are being recalled by the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety after exceeding the iodine content standard.

The Ministry of Food and Drug Safety has suspended sales and initiated a recall of certain products of the health functional food brand Koryo Eundan's "Multivitamin All-in-One" manufactured and sold by the brand. Ministry of Food and Drug Safety.

According to the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety on April 24, sales suspension and recall measures are underway for the 560mg, 60-tablet product of Koryo Eundan's "Multivitamin All-in-One" with a stated expiration date of February 10, 2027. The barcode number of the recalled product is "8809497531729" (manufacturing number 1460).

Although the product was labeled as containing 60mcg of iodine, actual measurement detected 129.6mcg. This amounts to 216% of the labeled amount, which exceeds the permitted range of 80% to 150% of the labeled content.

Iodine is an essential mineral important for thyroid hormone synthesis; however, excessive intake can cause thyroid dysfunction and other related issues.

This product features comedian Yoo Jaeseok as its advertising model and was ranked number one in domestic sales based on 2022 production figures.

The manufacturer, Koryo Eundan Healthcare, reportedly identified the issue through its own comprehensive investigation and voluntarily reported it to the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety.

The Ministry of Food and Drug Safety has advised consumers to immediately stop taking the product if they have it in their possession and to return it to the place of purchase. The Ministry has also requested that sellers immediately suspend sales of the product.
