Issuance of 5 Billion Won at 10 a.m. on April 28
Up to 500,000 Won Purchase per Person per Month, Holding Limit of 1.5 Million Won
5% Discounted Sale Price, 2% Payback on Amount Used, and 30% Income Deduction at Year-End Tax Settlement
Seongdong District (District Mayor Jung Wono) announced that it will issue an additional 5 billion won worth of Seongdong Sarang Gift Certificates ahead of Family Month in May.
The Seongdong Sarang Gift Certificates will be available for purchase at a 5% discount starting at 10 a.m. on April 28. They can be purchased through the Seoul Pay Plus app, with a monthly purchase limit of 500,000 won per person. The maximum holding limit is 1.5 million won per person.
In addition to the 5% discount, users can receive a 2% payback on the amount spent at affiliated merchants, resulting in a total effective discount of 7%. Furthermore, 30% of the amount spent can be deducted from taxable income during year-end tax settlement.
When paying at affiliated merchants with the Seongdong Sarang Gift Certificates, the payment processing fee is waived for merchants, reducing the financial burden on small business owners. This also helps prevent local funds from flowing out of the region, thereby contributing significantly to revitalizing the local economy.
The district has been continuously issuing Seongdong Sarang Gift Certificates to support residents and small business owners struggling with high prices. In January of this year, the district issued 20 billion won worth of Seongdong Sarang Gift Certificates ahead of the Lunar New Year to help restore livelihoods.
Jung Wono, Mayor of Seongdong District, said, "I hope the issuance of Seongdong Sarang Gift Certificates for Family Month will benefit both residents and small business owners," and added, "We will continue to work on various projects that can ease household burdens and help the local economy."
