The '2025 Bulamsan Azalea Festival' marks its fourth year as Nowon's representative spring festival, taking place at the 'Azalea Hill' in Bulamsan Healing Town. Every year, the festival attracts a large number of visitors.
Last year, a total of approximately 230,000 people visited the festival over 13 days.
At the opening ceremony held on April 20, the official start of the festival was celebrated with a butterfly release event. Nowon District Mayor Oh Seungrok and local residents released a total of 1,500 butterflies, including cabbage white butterflies, large white butterflies, and yellow butterflies, to mark the beginning of the Azalea Festival together.
This was followed by a bubble show and a traditional performance, providing more attractions for the audience. Various performances, including circus acts, will continue every weekend throughout the festival period.
On April 27, a joint performance by an orchestra, Poppin Hyunjoon, and Park Aeri is scheduled.
In addition, a variety of spaces within Healing Town, such as the 'Butterfly Garden,' 'Nowon Garden Support Center,' and 'Forest Healing Center,' are offering hands-on programs, allowing visitors to enjoy the festival even more richly.
This year, under the theme of 'Healing with Azaleas and Fairy Tales,' outdoor libraries have been set up throughout Healing Town. Spaces such as 'Book Rest Area Banggeut,' Cafe Forest Lawn, and the picnic area have been transformed into book lounges, hosting a variety of reading programs including picture book readings and book curation.
Nowon District Mayor Oh Seungrok said, "We have prepared an even more abundant festival this year for everyone visiting to enjoy spring," and added, "I hope you fully experience the beauty of spring throughout Azalea Hill and spend special moments with your loved ones."
