According to reports from foreign media outlets such as The Sun in the UK on April 22 (local time), a white Ferrari 458 Spider was engulfed in flames and completely burned on a road in Minato, Tokyo, on April 16. The driver had picked up the car from a Ferrari dealership and was driving on an elevated road about an hour later when he noticed white smoke coming from the vehicle. He immediately stopped the car, but the flames quickly erupted.

The owner of the vehicle has been identified as Honkon, the producer of the six-member male vocal group Chocorabi. He had saved money for ten years to purchase the Ferrari, but just one hour after taking delivery, he had to watch as his car was reduced to ashes.

At the time of the incident, Honkon was reportedly in shock, standing by the roadside several meters away from the burning vehicle, while other cars slowed down as they passed the scene. The fire was extinguished by firefighters who arrived at the scene in about 20 minutes, but most of the car was destroyed, with only the edge of the front bumper remaining. Fortunately, there were no injuries.

Honkon shared on social media that he was "really scared the car might explode" during the incident. He also expressed, "I feel like I'm the only person in Japan who has experienced something like this."

The police are currently investigating the cause of the fire. It has been reported that there was no particular impact or accident prior to the outbreak of the fire.

Previously, in January, there was also a fire involving a luxury car in London, UK. At that time, a brand new Lamborghini worth 300,000 pounds (approximately 570 million won) was engulfed in flames on Baker Street, a busy area in London. A passerby attempted to put out the fire with a fire extinguisher, and the flames were eventually brought under control, but foreign media reported that pedestrians watched in shock as the expensive supercar burned.
