At the Democratic Party's 21st presidential primary candidate debate hosted by OhmyTV on the 21st, former leader Lee, in his opening remarks, said, "At the very center of the moment when martial law was lifted and the president was removed from office through impeachment, it was the people who stood at the core." He added, "That is why the National Assembly was able to lift martial law, and it is also why we have been able to overcome current crises wisely."

Lee continued, "Despite facing crises, the Republic of Korea has achieved results that are a source of pride on the world stage," and added, "I believe this is due to the strength of our great people." He went on to say, "Although things are difficult now, if we join forces even a little, we can overcome any crisis and create a new, more advanced world," pledging, "As a loyal servant of the people, I will build a great and new nation."

Governor Kim Dongyeon stressed that he is the right person to overcome the current economic crisis. He said, "I usually sleep well, but during the 2008 financial crisis, I would wake up startled at night," and recalled, "At that time, I was the Blue House Secretary for Economic and Financial Affairs, serving as the commander on the front lines of overcoming the crisis." He continued, "In 2017, as Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs, I faced a complex crisis. When there was talk of downgrading Korea's credit rating, I traveled to New York and London to persuade them, and in the end, the rating was not downgraded."

Kim said, "With the economic downturn, Yoon Sukyeol's policy reversals, and Trump's tariff policies overlapping, the situation is even more difficult now," and asserted, "Both candidate Lee Jaemyung and candidate Kim Kyungsoo are excellent, but I am the best equipped to overcome the economic crisis." He added, "My experience overseeing Korea's economy, my experience overcoming crises?economics is not about words and slogans, but about action and experience. If you entrust me with the task, I will overcome the economic crisis."

Former Governor Kim Kyungsoo introduced himself as a "mega-city evangelist." He pointed out, "Every election, many candidates announce regional pledges, but after the election, those pledges are rarely kept," and added, "That is why there is a recurring narrative of regional neglect and alienation."

Kim explained, "The biggest reason this keeps happening is that the fate and development of the regions depend on the central government," and said, "That is why there is always a push to include as many regional pledges as possible in presidential candidates' platforms." He declared, "It is time for this to change," and asserted, "The five-region mega-city policy I have been consistently advocating is the solution."

Kim emphasized, "Together with the two candidates here, I will help build the Republic of Korea into a mega-city nation," and pledged, "I will make sure to create a Korea where everyone prospers equally, without discrimination."
