"It Will Become a Daily Shopping Landmark in Southwestern Gyeonggi"
On April 24, Shinsegae Simon announced the grand opening of its indoor shopping space, 'The S Mall,' at Siheung Premium Outlet.
Since its opening in April 2017, Siheung Premium Outlet has become a leading shopping center in the southwestern Gyeonggi region, attracting approximately 7 million visitors annually. Its catchment area includes the adjacent Siheung Baegot New Town as well as the southwestern metropolitan area (covering southwestern Seoul, Incheon, Gwangmyeong, and Anyang, with about 10 million residents within a 30km radius). The outlet is especially popular among visitors in their 20s and 30s and families.
As a strategy to enhance the competitiveness of Siheung Premium Outlet, Shinsegae Simon has renovated and expanded an indoor shopping space across two floors, covering 7,410 square meters (2,245 pyeong). By creating an indoor mall, Siheung Premium Outlet enables consumers to enjoy shopping comfortably regardless of the weather. The company plans to transform the outlet into a 'hybrid outlet' that combines the openness and scale of the existing outdoor shopping center with the convenience of indoor facilities.
Shinsegae Simon has strengthened its 'daily content' so that the outlet can become a place to visit and enjoy not only on weekends and holidays but also on weekdays. The mall houses a total of 31 brands, including living and children's brands, as well as popular SPA and F&B (food and beverage) brands.
Olive Young and Daiso have newly opened, and regional flagship stores for home appliances and living brands such as Casamia, Iloom, LG Best Shop, and Samsung Store have also gathered in one place. The SPA brand Uniqlo has opened a new store, and the children's specialty zone 'Kids Blossom' has been renovated to host 11 popular brands. In June, Musinsa Standard is also scheduled to open.
To celebrate the opening of The S Mall, Shinsegae Simon will hold a customer appreciation event offering shopping benefits. On April 26 and 27, customers who make purchases of 300,000 won or more across all categories using a Samsung Card will receive a Shinsegae gift certificate worth 5% of their purchase. A Shinsegae Simon representative stated, "By creating a hybrid outlet that combines the advantages of both an indoor mall and an outdoor shopping center, we aim to provide a high-quality shopping space that customers can enjoy every day."
