Pocheon City in Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Baek Younghyeon) announced on April 23 that it has selected 11 "Outstanding Public Officials for Proactive Administration in the Second Half of 2024" who have achieved results through active work promotion.

The city received a total of 19 applications for outstanding cases of proactive administration from citizens and all departments. After a preliminary review and a final evaluation by the Proactive Administration Committee, six outstanding cases were selected: one grand prize, one excellence award, one encouragement award, and three special awards.
The grand prize was awarded to Administrative Officers Lee Surim and Jin Siyoung for the case "Pocheon City Hall YouTube! Becoming Younger and Trendier After Staff Participation!" The excellence award went to Team Leader Cheon Jeonggwan and Administrative Officer Lee Hyomin for the case "Village Eyesore Abandoned Building, Now a Happy Village Parking Lot!" The encouragement award was given to Team Leader Shin Seungmi and Administrative Officer Moon Hana for the case "Exception to Overtime Work Limit During Natural Disaster Emergency Duty."
The special awards were given to the following cases: Implementation of Local Tax Delinquency Electronic Notification Service via KakaoTalk (Team Leader Kim Yooyoung and Administrative Officer Park Yebin); "The Top Village Civil Petition Road in Towns and Villages, Making the Impossible Possible" (Administrative Officer Park Daehun); and "Nation’s First Entrustment of General Property Management with Korea Land and Geospatial Informatix Corporation (LX)" (Team Leader Lee Miseon and Administrative Officer Jo Seongwon).
A Pocheon City official stated, "The selected public officials will be granted a variety of incentives, including certificates of commendation, additional points in personnel evaluations, the highest grade in performance bonuses, special leave, and additional points for overseas backpacking training."
