Gwangju Science Museum Conducts Intensive Safety Inspections Ahead of Spring Visitors

The National Gwangju Science Museum has begun safety inspections of its facilities in preparation for an increase in group visitors during the spring season.

On April 23, the Gwangju Science Museum announced that, as part of the "2025 Intensive Safety Inspection" led by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety, it is conducting inspections of key facilities?including buildings, electrical systems, gas, elevators, and fire safety equipment?until June 13.

As the central science museum in the Honam region, the Gwangju Science Museum experiences a significant rise in group visitors, such as students, every spring. To prevent safety accidents, the museum has formed its own inspection team to carry out detailed checks. If any abnormal signs are detected, immediate repair and reinforcement work will be undertaken. For issues requiring urgent maintenance, the museum plans to respond swiftly and establish systematic management measures.

Director Junggu Lee stated, "We will eliminate potential risks in advance to create a safe science and culture space where everyone can visit with peace of mind," adding, "We will continue to prioritize the safety and lives of the public in our operations."
