Organ Donation Registration Booth to Be Operated
Gangseo-gu, Seoul (Mayor Jin Kyohun), will hold the "Life Sharing Blood Donation Campaign" in front of the main gate of Gangseo-gu Office on April 25. The campaign aims to promote an active blood donation culture, contribute to a stable blood supply, and put the value of life sharing into practice.
The district will prepare blood donation buses in front of the main gate so that not only employees and social service personnel but also all residents can participate. This year, as many employees expressed their intention to participate in blood donation according to a demand survey, one additional bus will be deployed, bringing the total to two buses.
The blood donation campaign will take place on April 25 from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Participants must bring a valid ID, such as a resident registration card, driver's license, or passport. Blood donors will receive a blood donation certificate and a small commemorative gift.
Blood donation not only allows individuals to practice neighborly love, but also provides various blood test results, including blood pressure, liver function, and syphilis and malaria antibody tests, enabling participants to monitor their own health.
In addition, a booth for organ donation registration will also be operated. Registering as an organ donor is the process of expressing one's intention in advance to donate organs in the event of brain death or after death. This carries the noble meaning of giving new life to patients who are waiting for transplants.
Mayor Jin Kyohun stated, "I hope this campaign will serve as an opportunity for the culture of life sharing to spread further throughout the community," adding, "We will do our utmost to ensure that this noble act of saving lives naturally takes root in everyday life."
