Professor Jang Hakcheol Becomes the Second Specialist After Professor Lee Chuntaek in the Department of Respiratory Allergy Medicine
Professor Jang Hakcheol will also begin seeing patients at Seongnam City Medical Center every Wednesday afternoon starting from April 30.
Professor Jang is a renowned authority in the Department of Endocrinology and Metabolism at Bundang Seoul National University Hospital, well known for his outstanding research and clinical work on endocrine diseases such as diabetes and gestational diabetes. After graduating from Seoul National University College of Medicine, he has been practicing at Bundang Seoul National University Hospital's Department of Endocrinology and Metabolism, where he has achieved significant research results, particularly in uncovering the genetic causes of gestational diabetes.
Before starting his practice at Seongnam City Medical Center, Professor Jang stated, "As Korea has entered a super-aged society, the importance of managing chronic diseases has grown even greater. In particular, for endocrine diseases such as diabetes, early diagnosis and lifestyle management are key, and I hope to help Seongnam citizens maintain a healthy life."
Han Hoseong, Director of Seongnam City Medical Center, added, "With Professor Jang joining us, we will be able to provide even more specialized endocrinology services, which we expect will greatly benefit our citizens."
Seongnam City Medical Center has been laying the groundwork for a new leap forward since signing a clinical cooperation agreement (MOU) with Seongnam City and Bundang Seoul National University Hospital on December 23 last year.
Director Han stated, "We are continuing to provide improved medical services to Seongnam citizens and maintaining ongoing clinical cooperation for the development of regional healthcare. The results of these efforts are seen in Professors Lee Chuntaek and Jang Hakcheol practicing at our medical center," adding, "We are also continuing discussions with Bundang Seoul National University Hospital for further personnel exchanges."
Meanwhile, Professor Lee Chuntaek's outpatient clinic, which began in March with 10 patients, has seen the number of patients triple as of April, indicating a significant increase in public interest. In response, Professor Lee plans to expand his clinic hours from only Monday mornings to full-day sessions starting in May to accommodate more patients.
Seongnam City Medical Center stated, "As seen in the increasing number of patients, satisfaction with Professor Lee's clinic is very high. As word spreads that a renowned specialist, recognized as one of the top doctors at Bundang Seoul National University Hospital, is seeing patients at our center, many patients are coming to visit. In response to continuous requests from patients, we have decided to extend the clinic hours."
Director Han added, "The clinical cooperation agreement is still in its early stages, and more professors will be seeing patients at our medical center in the future. Once Professor Jang Hakcheol's endocrinology clinic begins, we are certain that it will attract many citizens, and as these changes continue, I am confident that this will become an opportunity for the medical center to make significant progress in the long term."
