Yeoncheon County to Host Children's Unification Future Experience Event with AI Robot "Barami"

Yeoncheon County in Gyeonggi Province announced on April 22 that it will hold a special hands-on event for children, the future generation, in collaboration with the Ministry of Unification's National Unification Education Institute and the Korea Peninsula Unification Future Center (hereinafter referred to as the "Future Center") on April 26.

This event gains additional significance as the Yeoncheon County Childcare Support Center and local children's centers are jointly participating.

The Unification Future Experience Event for Children features a variety of programs designed to make unification easy and fun for family visitors. Of particular note is the appearance of "Barami," an AI robot that incorporates advanced technology and is expected to attract attention.

"Barami," an AI robot introduced in March, will explain the Unification Future Experience Program and guide visitors through the facilities, take commemorative photos, and answer simple questions about unification and North Korea. Through these functions, the robot will introduce unification to children and families in a friendly manner.

Experience programs include building a unification block with family members, a unification treasure hunt, and balloon art. These activities are designed to naturally spark children's interest in unification through play.

In addition, taking advantage of the unique characteristics of the Yeoncheon area, where the Future Center is located, the event will feature programs such as the 38th Parallel Experience Zone, a visit to the Hapsumeori Observatory where the Berlin Wall and the confluence of the Imjin and Hantan Rivers meet, and a tour of the Jungbuwonjeom, known as the geographic center of the Korean Peninsula.

The event is open to everyone without prior registration, and more information can be found on the Future Center's website.

A Yeoncheon County official stated, "We hope this event will help our children naturally develop a positive perception of unification," and added, "We will continue to offer a variety of hands-on activities linked to unification education in the future."

Meanwhile, the Future Center also plans to open its doors on the last Saturday of every month from April to October, allowing anyone to freely imagine and enjoy the experience of 'unification.'
