The Gwangju Employers Federation announced on April 22 that it is recruiting participating companies for the "Job Go: AI·Semiconductor-Based Jobs for a Happier Tomorrow" corporate support program, targeting the future strategic industries of AI and semiconductors located in Buk-gu, Gwangju.

This program is being implemented to support employment stability, address local workforce shortages, and promote long-term employment retention by supporting the continued employment of workers at AI and semiconductor companies in Buk-gu, Gwangju, as well as by discovering and connecting customized talent to these companies.

Eligible companies are those based in Buk-gu, Gwangju, in the fields of AI, semiconductors, electronics, and related industries, with a focus on small and medium-sized enterprises that are planning to hire new employees.

For recruitment and support conditions, companies hiring new employees as regular staff up to the age of 39 can receive support in one of the following areas: production material costs, prototype production support, or corporate promotional videos. In addition, cultural events and customized HR and labor consulting will be provided to help improve organizational culture.

The application period runs until April 25. Up to 10 companies will be selected, with support of 2 million won per new hire, up to a maximum of 5 hires and 10 million won per company. The evaluation process consists of a preliminary review and a document screening to determine suitability for the program. Selected companies will receive support after submitting a "New Employee Recruitment Confirmation" form.

Yang Jinseok, chairman of the Gwangju Employers Federation, stated, "As the AI industry becomes increasingly important, it is expected that Gwangju will be able to create jobs and strengthen industrial competitiveness through regional industry-academia-government networking focused on the specialization of the AI·semiconductor industry, helping the city to become a leading hub for AI."
