According to Seogu District on April 22, the "Youth PI School" aims to strengthen the capabilities of young individuals and assist with career planning by offering customized programs tailored to each participant, including career development, employment, practical skills, and hobbies. The program targets 190 young people aged 19 to 39 who reside or are active in Gwangju.
The career planning course will be based on a Gallup StrengthsFinder life course, introduced for the first time in the region. The employment competency course consists of the Employment Master Written Test (focused on NCS-based problem-solving) and the Employment Master Interview (covering resume writing, mock interviews, image making, and more), all designed to enhance the practical job competitiveness of young participants.
The practical skills course includes "Competency UP Notion," which teaches the use of Notion, a digital collaboration tool, and "Competency UP Economy," which provides lectures to help participants gain a basic understanding of finance and economics. In addition, themed "one-day classes" such as making worry dolls and beach candles will be offered to help young people relieve stress and express themselves.
Furthermore, the district will introduce the "Youth Talent Sharing School," where young people with talents in various fields such as career development, IT, culture and arts, and self-development will participate as instructors to share their experiences and information. This program is designed to provide teaching experience to young people and help them build networks with their peers. For more information, contact the Seogu District Office’s Youth Employment Support Division.
Jung Myungsook, head of the Youth Employment Support Division, stated, "We will continue to support young people so they can discover their strengths and proactively plan for their futures," adding, "We will keep developing and operating effective programs that reflect the needs of young people to help foster the growth of local youth."
