Savoring the Fullness of Spring
Suncheon City in South Jeolla Province (Mayor Noh Gwan-gyu) announced on April 22 that it had successfully held a spring snap photo travel program themed around the double cherry blossoms at Seonamsa Temple from April 17 to 18.
This travel program was a special tourism product in which a photographer, who also served as a travel guide and storyteller, accompanied participants to capture both the tranquil atmosphere of the historic Seonamsa Temple and the moments of the participants through snap photos.
The program proved to be extremely popular, with all sessions selling out within a week of opening for sales. A diverse range of tourists, including large families, children with their parents, couples, and sisters, participated and enjoyed the spring in Suncheon.
Participants took various poses against the backdrop of not only Seonamsa Temple’s famous double cherry blossom spots but also the Wild Tea Experience Center and hidden corners of the historic temple, capturing the spring of Suncheon in photographs.
In particular, at the Traditional Wild Tea Experience Center, participants enjoyed tasting the region’s unique wild tea and taking snap photos against the backdrop of traditional houses, which received an enthusiastic response.
One participant shared their thoughts, saying, "I was very satisfied to create precious memories with my parents against the backdrop of Seonamsa Temple’s double cherry blossoms, which I had only seen in photos before, and I felt both physically and mentally healed by Suncheon’s beautiful scenery."
A city official stated, "Starting with this double cherry blossom snap photo trip, we are preparing unique eco-tourism products for each season, such as summer mudflat experiences, autumn trekking, and winter birdwatching. We hope for continued interest and participation in differentiated tourism programs that blend Suncheon’s nature and culture."
