Sinan County Receives Minister of Health and Welfare Commendation for Excellence in National Immunization Program

Achieving Vaccination Rates That Surpass the National Average

Sinan County in South Jeolla Province announced on April 22 that it has been selected as an 'Outstanding Institution for the 2025 National Immunization Program' and received a commendation from the Minister of Health and Welfare.

The Ministry of Health and Welfare evaluated various areas, including the implementation and promotion of immunization programs and COVID-19 vaccinations, and selected 17 outstanding public health centers nationwide. In South Jeolla Province, Sinan County was chosen.

The county has actively promoted various initiatives, including childhood national immunization programs, influenza, and COVID-19 vaccinations. It has also consistently encouraged residents to participate in vaccinations and raised awareness of their importance.

In particular, Sinan County achieved vaccination rates that exceeded the national average, including an influenza vaccination rate of 87.5% for seniors, a pneumococcal vaccination rate of 66.9% for seniors, a COVID-19 vaccination rate of 59.6%, and an HPV vaccination rate of 91.6% for girls aged 12.

An official from the public health center stated, "We plan to continue strengthening our immunization programs to protect the health of local residents and take the lead in preventing infectious diseases."
