Busan Office of Education Holds Training for Private Institute Operators and Foreign Instructors

For Private Institute and Gyoseupso Founders and Operators
in Dongnae and Nambu Education Support Office Areas

The Busan Metropolitan Office of Education (Superintendent Kim Seokjun) will hold the ninth training session for private institute (gyoseupso) founders and operators at the Busan Red Cross Hall at 9:30 a.m. on April 22.

This training is targeted at approximately 500 private institute (gyoseupso) founders and operators in the Dongnae and Nambu Education Support Office areas. Registration will be on a first-come, first-served basis until April 28, and may close early if capacity is exceeded.

While the training was previously held annually at the Busan KBS Hall, this year it will be distributed across multiple venues, including Dong-A University Daou Hall, Busan Design Promotion Agency, and Busan Red Cross Hall, in order to address issues related to accessibility, safety, and congestion.

Additionally, the number of training sessions has been significantly expanded from two per year to a total of 19. This includes main and supplementary training sessions for private institute (gyoseupso) founders and operators, as well as main and supplementary training sessions for foreign instructors.

The training will cover four mandatory subjects: prevention of child abuse, reporting and emergency support for child abuse, mandatory reporting of abuse against persons with disabilities, and prevention of sexual crimes. It will also provide case-specific guidance on safety management at private institutes, personal information protection measures, compliance requirements for private institute and gyoseupso operations, and recent amendments to relevant laws and regulations.

Superintendent Kim Seokjun stated, "We will continue our efforts to strengthen the professional capabilities of private institute (gyoseupso) founders and operators, create a safe educational environment, and provide opportunities for foreign instructors to improve their qualifications and understanding of Korean culture."
