Sejong University Aims to Expand Industry-Academia Cooperation
The Metaverse Autonomous Twin Research Center at Sejong University announced that it will participate in the 'ITRC Talent Development Expo 2025,' which will be held at COEX in Seoul from April 24 to 26, exhibiting cutting-edge research achievements, including digital twin technology based on autonomous intelligence.
Sejong University 'Metaverse Autonomous Twin Research Center' Exhibits Advanced Research Achievements at 'ITRC Talent Development Expo 2025' This event is hosted by the Ministry of Science and ICT and organized by the Institute of Information & Communications Technology Planning & Evaluation (IITP), with participation from 81 research centers at 38 universities nationwide. It serves as a platform for sharing outstanding research results in the field of information and communications technology.
The Sejong University 'Metaverse Autonomous Twin Research Center' was established in 2021 with support from the Ministry of Science and ICT and IITP. The center conducts research aimed at building an interaction-based digital ecosystem within metaverse environments and advancing autonomous twin technologies. Last year, it was recognized as an outstanding project in the ITRC Achievement Dissemination category and received the Minister of Science and ICT Award.
At the exhibition booth, the center plans to demonstrate and introduce a variety of proven technologies and research prototypes, including the intelligent waste-sorting robot 'Robrain,' SLAM technology based on embodied AI, a digital twin system for energy management, and a multimodal-based Tri-map generation algorithm.
Center Director Kim Jaeho stated, "This exhibition is an effective opportunity to showcase the potential of metaverse and autonomous intelligence convergence technologies to both industry and the public." He added, "Sejong University plans to expand industry-academia cooperation with related companies and accelerate the cultivation of next-generation digital convergence talent in the future."
