The purpose of this drill was to minimize casualties and strengthen initial response capabilities in the event of in-flight emergencies such as fires. The training targeted staff from the cabin headquarters and the Incheon branch.
Participants first received about one hour of theoretical training at the airport fire department training center located within Incheon International Airport. The training covered practical topics such as the proper use and precautions of fire extinguishers installed on Air Premia aircraft, fire suppression methods for specific areas inside the cabin (overhead bins, lavatories, ovens, etc.), response procedures for lithium battery fires, principles of respiratory protection in the presence of smoke, cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), and the use of splints.
The subsequent hands-on training took place inside an actual aircraft and simulated a fire emergency. Participants practiced responding to smoke and fire in the cabin, initial rescue of passengers by flight attendants, and the process of on-site response and handover by the airport fire department, all in a realistic environment designed to closely resemble an actual emergency.
Air Premia stated that it prioritizes the safety of customers and crew and will continue to provide systematic education and training to prepare for various emergency situations. An Air Premia representative said, "Speed and accuracy are of utmost importance when responding to fires or emergencies on board. Through this drill, we were able to raise safety awareness among cabin crew and airport staff, and further strengthen our collaborative system with the airport corporation to prepare for aircraft fires."
