Koryoin Students Walk Through the Joseon Era at Nagan Eupseong

Offers Korean Cultural Experience Program for Koryoin Youth

Saenal School, an alternative educational institution under Gwangju Koryoin Village, recently conducted a Korean cultural history experiential learning program for Koryoin youth at Nagan Eupseong in Suncheon, Jeollanam-do.

Koryoin Students Walk Through the Joseon Era at Nagan Eupseong Gwangju Saenal School conducted a Korean cultural history experiential learning program on the 18th in the Nagan Eupseong area of Suncheon City, Jeollanam-do.

According to Koryoin Village on April 22, more than 70 participants, including students and teachers, took part in the program. Through various activities such as traditional blacksmithing and laundry experiences, playing the gayageum (a traditional Korean string instrument), reenacting a traditional wedding ceremony, and experiencing rural life, they vividly learned about the lives of ordinary people during the Joseon Dynasty.


The traditional wedding experience, in which students wore traditional wedding attire, and the hands-on activity of playing the gayageum were especially well received by the students. Saenal School stated, "This program provided Koryoin students and multicultural youth who recently arrived in Korea with an opportunity to build understanding and confidence regarding Korean society."
