Discussion on Expanding Cooperation in Volunteering and International Student Exchange
Seoul National University of Science and Technology's ST Sharing Contribution Group announced on April 22 that it had visited Ulaanbaatar and Darkhan at the official invitation of the Mongolian Parliament, where it held discussions with Mongolian parliamentarians and Darkhan City Hall on practical measures for exchange and cooperation.
Seoul National University of Science and Technology ST Sharing Contribution Group was invited by the Mongolian Parliament and visited Ulaanbaatar and Darkhan regions on the 16th. They held meetings with Mongolian parliamentarians and Darkhan City Hall to conduct practical discussions on expanding Korea-Mongolia youth exchange programs. The visit took place on April 16, focusing on key agendas such as educational volunteer cooperation, attracting international students, and expanding Korea-Mongolia youth cultural exchanges. Seoul National University of Science and Technology actively pursued the establishment of a sustainable private diplomacy and educational network with Mongolia.
During a meeting with Mongolian parliamentarian Surenzavyn Lundeg, the need to introduce science and culture convergence education programs for youth in marginalized regions was emphasized. In discussions with Darkhan City Hall, both sides agreed to establish a regular volunteer dispatch and a long-term cooperation system, expressing their intent to sign a memorandum of understanding.
In addition, the ST Sharing Contribution Group visited Darkhan Od Comprehensive School and Ulaanbaatar National Special School to discuss customized educational volunteer activities for students in special education and exchanged ideas on operating sustainable programs.
Kim Daeyong, head of the ST Sharing Contribution Group, stated, "Seoul National University of Science and Technology already has a vibrant international education foundation, with about 150 Mongolian students currently enrolled," and added, "Through this on-site visit, we aim to lay the groundwork for Seoul National University of Science and Technology to become a hub university for Korea-Mongolia educational and cultural exchange."
Meanwhile, Seoul National University of Science and Technology, in cooperation with Kunsan National University, plans to dispatch the first-ever joint overseas volunteer group among national universities to Mongolia in July. International exchange activities led by the ST Sharing Contribution Group can be found on the university's website and official channels, and opportunities for participation are being expanded for local youth as well.
