Most Candidates' Assets Consist of Apartments and Bank Deposits
Yoo Jungbok and Lee Junseok Hold Virtual Assets
Kim Dong Yeon and Kim Moonsoo Own Apartments Under Their Spouses' Names
According to an analysis conducted by the Asia Economy YouTube channel AK Radio, the assets of the presidential candidates mainly consist of apartments and bank deposits. Candidates Kim Dong Yeon, Han Donghoon, and Hong Junpyo own apartments in Gangnam, while Na Kyungwon owns an apartment in Yongsan. Candidates Yoo Jungbok and Lee Junseok possess virtual assets. Membership rights are held by Lee Jae Myung and Hong Junpyo. Most apartments are jointly owned with spouses, but Kim Dong Yeon and Kim Moonsoo stand out for having properties registered solely under their spouses' names.
So, who is the wealthiest among the presidential hopefuls, and who has the least wealth? The wealthiest candidate is Ahn Cheolsoo of the People Power Party, while the candidate with the least assets is Kim Kyung Soo of the Democratic Party.
Ahn's assets amount to 136,789,820,000 won as of 2025, with the main components being AhnLab shares worth 124.1 billion won and bank deposits totaling 2.4 billion won (1.8 billion won of which are in his spouse's name). The leasehold right to a house in Bundang-gu, Seongnam, Gyeonggi Province, and a 2025 Carnival Hybrid vehicle are registered under Ahn's name. In contrast, Kim Kyung Soo, identified as the "least wealthy candidate," has assets below 1 billion won. Kim is the only presidential candidate whose assets are under 1 billion won. The majority of his assets consist of a detached house in Changwon, South Gyeongsang Province (330 million won) and bank deposits (306 million won).

Kwon Young Guk of the Justice Party reportedly has assets totaling 2,342,000,000 won. Kim Dong Yeon of the Democratic Party, with assets of approximately 3.5 billion won, has a relatively simple portfolio: an apartment in Dogok-dong, Gangnam, registered under his spouse's name (1.3 billion won), and bank deposits (1.34 billion won) make up most of it, along with a 2010 Sonata vehicle. Kim Moonsoo of the People Power Party declared assets of 1.07 billion won, mainly consisting of an apartment in Bongcheon-dong, Gwanak-gu, Seoul (480 million won) under his spouse's name, and bank deposits (540 million won). He owns a 2020 Grandeur, with most of the deposits in his spouse's name. Notably, he holds 30 shares of SK Hynix himself and his spouse owns 10 shares.
Na Kyungwon of the People Power Party, with assets of approximately 5.9 billion won, primarily owns an apartment in Seobinggo-dong, Yongsan-gu, Seoul (2.65 billion won) jointly with her spouse, and bank deposits (1.2 billion won). Yang Hyangja of the People Power Party has the largest bank deposits among the candidates, totaling 2.1 billion won. Yang, with assets of 3,787,000,000 won, also owns an apartment in Hwaseong, Gyeonggi Province (1 billion won). Yoo Jungbok of the People Power Party has the highest amount of debt among the candidates, with liabilities amounting to 1.6 billion won. He jointly owns a building in Baegot, Siheung, Gyeonggi Province, worth 2.9 billion won, with his spouse. His spouse and eldest son have invested 58.67 million won in virtual assets. He owns a 2020 Grandeur, while his spouse owns a 2024 Torres EV.

Lee Jae Myung of the Democratic Party has assets totaling 3,089,140,000 won, mainly consisting of an apartment in Seongnam, Gyeonggi Province (1,946,000,000 won) and bank deposits (1,583,980,000 won). Of the deposits, 1 billion won is under his spouse's name. Lee reported owning four vehicles under his name, but it was later found that two of them are Democratic Party vehicles. He jointly owns apartments, leasehold rights, and vehicles with his spouse. He also holds a membership at Oak Valley Condo.
Lee Junseok of the Reform Party has assets of approximately 1.4 billion won, with his apartment in Sanggye-dong, Nowon-gu, Seoul (728 million won) being the largest component. He also reported around 770,000 won in virtual assets. Lee Cheolwoo of the People Power Party reported assets of 1.92 billion won, with private bonds amounting to 1.4 billion won. He holds 500 million won in bank deposits.
Han Donghoon of the People Power Party, with assets of 3,956,000,000 won, mainly owns an apartment in Seocho-dong, Seocho-gu, Seoul (2.4 billion won) and a leasehold right to Tower Palace in Dogok-dong, Gangnam-gu (1.68 billion won). Both are jointly owned with his spouse. He owns a 2013 K9 vehicle under his name. Hong Junpyo of the People Power Party, with assets of 4,259,220,000 won, primarily owns a jointly held apartment in Jamsil (2.6 billion won) and bank deposits of 1.2 billion won. His spouse owns a 2021 Genesis and a 2018 Avante. He also holds memberships at Timius Condo and Willihill Condo.
