Participation in the "2025 World Korean Business Convention"
Operation of the Chungnam Pavilion with 30 Promising Companies
Chungnam Province has achieved export success in the United States, a central arena of the global tariff war.
On April 21, Chungnam Province announced that it participated in the "2025 World Korean Business Convention" held in Atlanta, USA, from April 17 to 20, and signed export MOUs worth a total of $38.41 million together with promising small and medium-sized enterprises from the province. This performance is 12.8 times higher than the initial target of $3 million.
This convention, hosted by the Korean American Chamber of Commerce, is the largest Korean economic event in North America, bringing together over 400 global companies, more than 500 local buyers, and around 5,000 Korean businesspeople.
The province led 30 promising local companies and operated the "Chungnam Pavilion," with all staff from its U.S. office providing on-site support.
Participating companies held export consultations with local buyers, focusing on high value-added items such as Chungnam’s signature specialties?red ginseng, seasoned seaweed, and salted shrimp?as well as cosmetics, K-pop merchandise, secondary battery equipment, smart farm systems, and medical imaging systems.
As a result, a total of 256 consultations worth $57.41 million were conducted, of which 23 led to formal export MOUs.
Major contracts included: ▲Seocheon Sloker (alcoholic beverages such as Hansan Sogokju): 2 contracts, $11.3 million ▲Asan Daedong Industry (eco-friendly plant cultivators): 4 contracts, $10.91 million ▲Dangjin AN Form (smart construction systems): 3 contracts, $10.2 million.
In addition, various companies have established footholds for entering the U.S. market, including Geumsan Juan Food (MOU for establishing a factory in the U.S.), Seocheon Gosurok Food (setting up local stores), and Boryeong Moyang Matkim (supply contract with a U.S. distributor).
An official from the province stated, "Despite the global economic downturn and the strengthening of tariff barriers, the quality competitiveness of Chungnam companies and the province’s marketing strategy have proven effective," adding, "Compared to our performance at the 2022 Orange County event in the U.S., which was around $1 million, this is truly explosive growth."
The official emphasized, "Building on this convention, we will focus on strengthening connections with North American distribution networks, establishing cooperation systems with Korean businesspeople, and supporting follow-up contracts to accelerate the spread of K-products in the U.S. market."
