Encouraging Athletes On-site at the Venues
Boosting Morale with In-person Support
On April 21, Cho Gyuil, Mayor of Jinju, Gyeongsangnam-do, announced that he visited the venues for the preliminary events of the 64th Gyeongsangnam-do Provincial Sports Festival, including triathlon, basketball (Munsan Indoor Gymnasium), and ssireum (Jinju Sports Complex), to encourage the athletes and event officials.

Mayor Cho, accompanied by Kim Taekse, President of the Jinju Sports Council, and other council executives, visited each venue to meet the athletes in person and delivered a message of support, saying, "I hope the sweat and effort you have put in will yield great results." He also expressed his gratitude to the event officials and volunteers who have been working hard to ensure the success of the festival.
Mayor Cho plans to visit the venues several times during the main events as well, to monitor the progress of the festival and encourage the athletes.
The 64th Gyeongsangnam-do Provincial Sports Festival will kick off with the opening ceremony at Jinju Sports Complex on May 2. Over the course of four days, competitions in various sports will be held throughout Jinju, concluding with the closing ceremony on May 5.
Following this, the 28th Gyeongsangnam-do Sports Festival for the Disabled will take place from May 8 to May 9, continuing the festive sports atmosphere.
