The family explained, "Itagaki had been suffering from a mental illness since last year and had been missing since the end of January this year. Despite ongoing search efforts with the cooperation of the police and friends, we were notified yesterday that her body was found in Tokyo."
They continued, "We deeply apologize for delivering this news to her fans so late. Itagaki always worked diligently in her entertainment activities to bring joy to her fans. She was preparing to return to her career recently, so it is heartbreaking and unfair that her life ended so suddenly."
Finally, the family added, "We felt it would be disrespectful not to inform the fans and those involved who supported her during her life, so we are making this announcement. We would appreciate it if you could remember her warmly for her activities until now. Thank you deeply for supporting Itagaki all this time."
Itagaki debuted in 2014 as a member of the boy group M!LK and gained great popularity. She later transitioned to acting, appearing in films such as "Clover," "Solomon's Perjury," "Hibiki," and "I Want to Tell You a Secret," as well as dramas including "Island Teacher," "Village Doctor Jumbo," and "Marriage Honey." In 2015, she was recognized for her acting skills by winning the Best New Actor Award at the 25th Japan Film Critics Awards for "Solomon's Perjury."
