This public hearing was organized to share Yangsan City's vision and strategies for responding to climate change and transitioning to a sustainable city with citizens, as well as to gather diverse opinions. The event included a presentation of the draft basic plan by Oh Changseok, Director of the Yangsan City Carbon Neutrality Support Center, a panel discussion with experts, and the presentation of citizens' opinions.

The basic plan includes the vision and strategies for achieving carbon neutrality by 2050, sector-specific greenhouse gas reduction strategies, measures to expand citizen participation, and energy transition policies.

In the subsequent expert panel discussion, Park Jinho, Head of the Climate and Environment Policy Team at the Gyeongnam Research Institute, served as moderator. Experts from various fields, including Kim Jungmin and Kwon Gupo, professors at Youngsan University, and Kim Seokgyu, a member of the Yangsan City Council, participated in an in-depth discussion on the direction and tasks for promoting carbon neutrality in Yangsan City.

The public hearing was further energized by a wide range of questions and suggestions from citizens, organizations, businesses, and city council members in attendance. In particular, there was active discussion and proposals on practical topics closely related to daily life, such as cooperation measures with buildings, transportation, local citizens, businesses, organizations, and the role of the Carbon Neutrality Support Center.

A Yangsan City official stated, "We plan to actively incorporate the valuable opinions of citizens and experts presented at the public hearing to establish a feasible carbon neutral green growth basic plan," adding, "We will continue to build a sustainable Yangsan together with our citizens."
