Survey Results Announced on Purposes of Short-Term Rental Use
SpaceB, the operator of the short-term rental platform 'SamSamM2', announced on the 18th that a survey conducted among its 200,000 users revealed that 38% used the service for short-term stays related to business trips or work purposes.
Following that, 24% used it for temporary residence during moving preparations or interior construction periods, 23% for travel or relaxation purposes, and 15% for study or other reasons. This means that demand for non-travel purposes such as work, moving, and study accounted for 80%.
As demand for flexible living increases, SamSamM2's transaction volume grew from 5 billion KRW in 2022 to 84 billion KRW last year. This year, the transaction volume in the first quarter recorded 35 billion KRW, about three times higher than the same period last year.
Park Hyung-jun, CEO of SpaceB, said, "This survey shows that the short-term rental market is being widely utilized for practical and functional purposes," adding, "SamSamM2 will continue to expand the diversity of housing types and the flexibility of residential mobility by providing housing options and services that satisfy various demand groups."
