At the Supreme Council meeting held at the National Assembly in Yeouido on the 18th, Senior Supreme Council Member Kim said, "I will adjust to any time and place for Acting President Han," and warned, "Do not think of avoiding the meeting by wandering around for pre-election campaigning."
Senior Supreme Council Member Kim raised his voice, saying, "I demand answers to my five questions: whether he will run, when he will resign, whether he has sought advice from a shaman, whether he has consulted with former President Yoon Seok-yeol, and what national interest is served by the rushed candidacy card two weeks before the public office resignation deadline."
He said, "If you think the questions are unfair, you can replace them with a simple declaration of non-candidacy," and added, "Make your position clear in accordance with your lifelong bureaucratic experience, now approaching eighty years of age." He continued, "I will never tolerate rushed negotiations for candidacy that jeopardize national interests."
Senior Supreme Council Member Kim also addressed Choi Sang-mok, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy and Finance, and Ahn Deok-geun, Minister of Trade, Industry and Energy, saying, "Before going to the U.S., even by next Monday, you must report your consultation plans to the National Assembly or the Democratic Party and the People Power Party," emphasizing, "In a situation where the President and the ruling party have disappeared, the interim cabinet must not handle issues involving national interests arbitrarily and without any system."
