Jungnang-gu (Mayor Ryu Kyung-gi) held the opening ceremony of the '4th On-site Farmer School' at the Jungnang Happy Urban Agriculture Center on the 17th, officially starting urban agriculture education.
The On-site Farmer School is a basic course for residents new to urban agriculture, focusing on ▲basic agricultural knowledge ▲farming education. The classes combine theory and practice on useful topics for daily life, such as vegetable garden crop cultivation and eco-friendly farming methods, and are held once a week for a total of 10 weeks.
Ryu Kyung-gi, Mayor of Jungnang-gu, said, "I hope residents can feel nature up close through urban agriculture and practice it in their daily lives," adding, "We will continue to strive to make urban agriculture a means to connect the local community and promote healthy leisure and emotional recovery."
Since its opening in 2023, the Jungnang Happy Urban Agriculture Center has produced a total of 77 graduates. These graduates utilize their expertise as urban agriculture managers and rehabilitation horticulturists to work as instructors for various programs, leading the spread of urban agriculture culture in the local community.
