First Designated Donation Project of the Fund... Fundraising Continues Until June
Establishing a Virtuous Cycle of Food Using Local Agricultural Specialties
Anseong City in Gyeonggi Province takes responsibility for the breakfast of middle and high school students in the area through the Hometown Love Fund.
On the 17th, Anseong City announced that it will officially launch the 'Student Breakfast Convenience Meal Support Project' as the first designated donation project utilizing the Hometown Love Fund. The project aims to help students who commute long distances start their day healthily and to expand the consumption of local agricultural products.
The project will be implemented for 4,398 students attending 11 middle and high schools in the area. Using locally produced agricultural specialties such as rice and fruits, 36 different types of convenient breakfast menus will be developed and provided. The plan also includes creating a virtuous cycle of food by using locally produced ingredients for school meals.
The designated donation project under the Hometown Love Donation System allows donors to directly designate the target project from pre-determined local government projects for their donations. The city plans to continue fundraising related to the 'Student Breakfast Convenience Meal Support Project' until June 30.
An official from Anseong City said, "We will continue to try various efforts that donors can sympathize with through designated donation projects."
The Hometown Love Donation System allows individuals to donate up to 20 million KRW annually to local governments other than their place of residence. Donations up to 100,000 KRW are fully tax-deductible. A 16.5% tax deduction applies to amounts exceeding this. Donors can also receive local specialties and other thank-you gifts worth up to 30% of the donation amount, meaning a 100,000 KRW donation can provide benefits worth approximately 130,000 KRW.
