The National Theater Company announced on the 17th that the play "Hedda Gabler," opening on May 8 at Myeongdong Arts Theater, has sold out all seats.
The National Theater Company explained that by around 11 a.m. that day, all 7,144 seats for the 22 performances of Hedda Gabler were sold out, just one week after ticket sales began at 2 p.m. on the 10th.
The National Theater Company first premiered Hedda Gabler at Myeongdong Arts Theater in 2012 and is presenting the revival stage after 13 years.
Park Jeong-hee, the current artistic director of the National Theater Company who directed the original production, is directing again, and actress Lee Hye-young will reprise the lead role of Hedda Gabler as she did in the original production. Hedda Gabler attracted great attention at its premiere, and Lee Hye-young, who played the lead role, received the Best Actress Award at the Korea Theater Awards and the Best Actress Award at the Dong-A Theater Awards.
In addition to Lee Hye-young, Yoon Sang-hwa, Go Soo-hee, Song In-seong, Kim Myung-gi, Kim Eun-woo, and Park Eun-ho will also appear.
