The Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency's Mobile Patrol Unit announced on the 18th that they had arrested Jo, suspected of special theft, on grounds of flight risk and other concerns.

According to the police, Jo is accused of stealing a Porter vehicle from a parking lot in Yeongdeungpo-gu, Seoul, around 10 p.m. on the 11th.

On the 14th, during a foot patrol, the police received a report from a resident saying, "A Porter with a broken window is parked and it feels unsafe." Using CCTV footage and other evidence, they traced Jo's movements and urgently arrested him at a location in Yeongdeungpo-gu.

Police investigations revealed that Jo has 21 prior convictions, including nighttime residential burglary, and committed the crime again just seven months after his release in September last year. The police are currently investigating whether Jo has committed other crimes.

A police official stated, "Vehicle thefts often occur when doors are left unlocked or when keys are visible inside the vehicle. It is important to develop the habit of locking doors properly and keeping keys secure."
