Opening Date Moved Forward to the End of This Month
Kumho Construction announced on the 17th that it will hold a temporary opening ceremony at the end of this month ahead of the early temporary opening of the 'Nyeonjjak Bridge,' which connects Ho Chi Minh City and Dong Nai Province in Vietnam.
The construction of Nyeonjjak Bridge, solely undertaken by Kumho Construction, began in September 2022 and was originally scheduled for completion in August this year. However, in response to the client's request to advance the completion date to coincide with the 50th anniversary of the liberation of southern Vietnam and national reunification, a plan was established to accelerate the schedule through holiday and day-night work, moving the opening date forward to the end of this month.
The section of the project handled by Kumho Construction is part of Ho Chi Minh City's 3rd Ring Road, with the official opening expected at the end of June.
This bridge construction project connects Tan Ban in the northeast of Ho Chi Minh City with the Nyeonjjak Industrial Complex in the southeast of Dong Nai Province, Vietnam. The Korea Economic Development Cooperation Fund (EDCF) provided the financing, and the My Thuan Project Management Unit (PMU) under the Ministry of Transport (MOT) of Vietnam was responsible for the order. The total construction cost amounts to approximately 100 billion KRW.
A Kumho Construction official stated, "Thanks to the active cooperation of the client, early opening was possible," adding, "The client also expressed gratitude for the efforts to advance the temporary opening and conveyed their thanks."
