Gyeongnam Nonghyup delivered a donation of 500 million KRW through the Gyeongnam Community Chest of Korea at the Gyeongnam Provincial Government on the 16th to help residents affected by wildfires in the Sancheong and Hadong areas. This donation will be used for the restoration of regions damaged by the wildfires.
Immediately after the wildfires broke out, Gyeongnam Nonghyup entered emergency response mode and provided disaster relief kits and daily necessities to affected farmers and cooperative members. They also supported disaster response activities by supplying meals and food, dispatching fire suppression (disinfection and water spray) vehicles, and laundry vehicles.
In addition, the National Agricultural Cooperative Federation plans to continue various support activities for the swift recovery of farmers' daily lives, including 200 billion KRW in interest-free funds, emergency livelihood stabilization loans of up to 30 million KRW, discounted supply of daily necessities to affected areas, exemption of fees for agricultural cooperative ATMs, prompt damage assessment and early insurance payouts, emergency repair of agricultural machinery, and discounted supply of farming materials.
Head Ryu Gilnyeon stated, "I extend my deepest condolences to the residents who lost their homes and are facing difficulties due to the sudden wildfires," and added, "Nonghyup will mobilize all available resources to support farmers and disaster victims so they can return to their daily lives as soon as possible."
