[Featured Stock] Topcomedia Rises on News of Lee Jae-myung's Visit to Daegu Webtoon Library

Topcomedia is showing strong performance. It is interpreted that the news of Lee Jae-myung, the Democratic Party presidential primary candidate, planning to visit the Daegu Webtoon Library had an impact.

As of 1:47 PM on the 17th, Topcomedia was trading at 2,275 won, up 245 won (12.07%) compared to the previous trading day.

The day before, Kang Yoo-jung, spokesperson for Lee's campaign, announced that Lee is scheduled to visit Daehyeon Library in Daegu on the 18th. Daehyeon Library is Daegu's first webtoon-specialized library and the first in the nation to operate a webtoon smart library. Lee will hold an on-site meeting with global content companies, Daegu-based webtoon companies, and artists there.

Lee's campaign stated, "Through the on-site meeting, we plan to express our ambition to create a 'soft power powerhouse' and lead the world with K-content," adding, "We will discuss ways to build a virtuous cycle infrastructure for K-content and strengthen self-sustainability."

Meanwhile, Topcomedia completed its merger with the webtoon platform 'Toptoon' on the 1st. Through this merger, Topcomedia will operate integrated webtoon platforms in Korea and Japan. Based on popular webtoon intellectual property (IP), it plans to expand into various fields to generate additional revenue sources.
