Shares of Sphere are rising following news that Russian President Vladimir Putin praised SpaceX CEO Elon Musk's Mars colonization vision and promised increased support for space development projects.
As of 1:42 PM on the 17th, Sphere is trading at 8,220 KRW, up 8.73% compared to the previous day.
According to foreign media reports from the previous day, President Putin visited Bauman Moscow State Technical University and spoke with students. He said, "Musk, who lives in the United States, is more passionate about Mars than anyone else," adding, "There will be more support for this interesting challenge in the future."
President Putin also expressed support for space cooperation between Russia and the United States. He stated, "Cooperation with the United States in the space sector will continue," and "It is ongoing under any circumstances."
Meanwhile, Sphere recently completed a merger with Sphere Korea, the primary vendor for the world's largest private aerospace company.
Sphere Korea supplies special alloys used in key components such as rocket engines and nozzles to the world's largest private aerospace company. Including Sphere Korea, there are only five such companies worldwide.
