The Beautiful Store Foundation announced on the 17th that it has established the 'Seoul Geumulko Center,' the largest reuse logistics hub in Korea, and has begun full-scale operations.
The Seoul Geumulko Center is a newly created space that integrates the two existing logistics centers located in Yongdap-dong, Seoul, and Uijeongbu, due to the aging of the facilities and the increase in donated items, aiming for more efficient goods management and operation.
The existing centers have been evaluated as having served as the heart of The Beautiful Store for 20 years, laying the foundation for reuse logistics. The newly established Seoul Geumulko Center is located on Ipseok-ro, Uijeongbu-si, Gyeonggi-do, and covers a total area of 3,192㎡ (967 pyeong).
It consists of a large-scale item sorting area (1st floor), reuse product processing and repair spaces (2nd-3rd floors), management offices (4th floor), and eco-friendly energy facilities (rooftop).
The Beautiful Store focused on building an advanced logistics system including ▲systematic classification and selection of donated items ▲efficient storage and flow design ▲transparent donated goods management system ▲flexible response system according to seasons and disaster situations.
Through this, the strategy is to provide donors with a transparent and trustworthy donation process and to strengthen trust and competitiveness in the trading market for companies and institutions through sustainable resource circulation partnerships.
Director Park Jin-won said, "The Seoul Geumulko Center is a core hub that consolidates The Beautiful Store's logistics innovation and resource circulation strategy," adding, "As the value of reuse and recycling is gaining attention throughout society, we will do our best to build a more systematic and sustainable circular economy ecosystem."
