A 'recruitment briefing session' where you can view job information from public institutions and companies in the Gwangju and Jeonnam regions at a glance will be held in Gwangju.

The city of Gwangju announced on the 17th that it will hold the 'Gwangju-Jeonnam Regional Talent Joint Recruitment Briefing Session' at the Convention Hall of Chonnam National University Gwangju Campus on the 24th. This recruitment briefing session aims to expand job opportunities at public institutions relocated to the Gwangju-Jeonnam Joint Innovation City for local talent and to strengthen employment capabilities. Since 2012, it has been hosted annually by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport and co-organized by Gwangju City and Jeonnam Province.

This year's session will feature 13 public institutions relocated to the Innovation City, such as Korea Electric Power Corporation, Korea Power Exchange, and Korea Internet & Security Agency, as well as 9 public institutions under Gwangju and Jeonnam, including Gwangju Transportation Corporation and Jeonnam Research Institute. In addition, 33 public institutions and companies such as Kwangju Bank, Amkor Technology Korea, Alps Korea, Kia Motors, and Kumho Tire will participate to provide a wide range of recruitment information.

This year, participation from public institutions under Gwangju City and private companies such as Kia Motors and Kumho Tire has been greatly expanded to reflect the diverse employment needs of young people.

Relevant local organizations such as the Gwangju Regional Employment and Labor Office and the Gwangju Regional Headquarters of the Human Resources Development Service of Korea will also participate to provide employment support services and share job preparation strategies using NCS. For students and job seekers unable to attend in person, the event will be broadcast live on the city’s internet channel, 'Hello Gwangju YouTube Channel.'

Main programs include presentations of recruitment information from public institutions and local companies, a special lecture on the National Competency Standards (NCS) essential for public institution recruitment, and presentations of successful employment cases by newly hired employees, all designed to help students and job seekers.

There will also be recruitment counseling booths where participants can receive direct consultation and advice from HR managers of each institution. Various experience booths, such as career planning related to employment and simple physical fitness tests through the National Fitness 100 program, will also be available.

Lee Byungcheol, Director of Planning and Coordination, said, "Creating quality jobs in the region by revitalizing local talent recruitment is a solution to prevent the outflow of young people to the Seoul metropolitan area. We will continue various efforts, including this joint recruitment briefing session, to ensure that nurturing local talent leads to their employment, forming a strong connection."

Meanwhile, Gwangju City has deployed safety personnel inside and outside the venue and established a cooperation system with nearby Gwangju Bukbu Police Station and Gwangju Bukbu Fire Station to ensure a safe event and respond promptly to emergencies.
