Laying the Foundation for Achieving First Place for Two Consecutive Years
Yangsan City, Gyeongnam conducted group training and indicator-specific consulting sessions on June 15 and 16 for over 120 indicator managers in preparation for the 2026 joint evaluation of major city and county tasks.
The joint city-county evaluation is a system in which Gyeongnam Province comprehensively assesses delegated national tasks, major policies, and key provincial initiatives performed by local governments according to the Basic Act on Government Performance Evaluation.
This training was organized to encourage the employees who achieved the valuable result of ranking first among cities in the 2025 evaluation and to strengthen the capabilities of the managers so that they can continue to achieve excellent results in next year's evaluation.
On this day, an evaluation expert was invited to conduct group training for all indicator managers and face-to-face consulting for team leaders and managers in charge of qualitative indicators. The sessions included understanding the direction of the 2026 joint evaluation, response strategies in line with the evaluation manual, and 1:1 customized consulting for each qualitative indicator.
Even after this training, the city plans to make every effort to achieve the distinction of being an excellent local government in the joint evaluation of major city and county tasks for two consecutive years through continuous performance management, including monthly performance reviews, countermeasure meetings for underperforming indicators, follow-up consulting, and meetings between collaborating departments.
Yangsan City Deputy Mayor Cho Hyunok said, "The excellent results in the joint evaluation ultimately mean enhanced administrative services for citizens, so I hope employees will take pride in this. Through this training, I ask all managers to deepen their understanding of the indicators and make continuous efforts to improve performance, thoroughly preparing for next year's evaluation."
