Inspection of Residual Chlorine, Hydrogen Ion Concentration, and More
Jeongeup City, North Jeolla Province, announced on the 17th that it will officially launch the "On-site Tap Water Safety Service Project" starting next month.
The "Tap Water Safety Service Project" is a system that provides free water quality inspections by visiting households so that citizens can check the quality of their tap water themselves.
Any citizen can apply, and a designated staff member will visit each household to conduct the inspection and immediately share the results on-site.
The inspection items include residual chlorine, hydrogen ion concentration (pH), turbidity, and heavy metals (lead, copper). If any abnormality is detected during the on-site inspection, a more precise diagnosis will be provided through a detailed examination.
Through this program, the city aims to ensure that citizens can trust and safely use tap water by providing thorough guidance and response.
Applications for inspection can be made through the "Water Love Website" or the Jeongeup City Waterworks and Sewerage Office, and in-person applications are also accepted.
Mayor Lee Haksoo said, "Through this project, we will ensure that citizens can trust and safely use tap water," adding, "We will continue to expand citizen-oriented water quality management policies in the future."
