From the 15th for three days, Korean Air held Air Taser instructor training at its Cabin Training Center in Gangseo-gu, Seoul, led by Axon, a global American security company. Axon is the world's first manufacturer of Tasers and the global leader in Taser gun production. It accepted Korean Air’s request for training support, making Korean Air the first airline worldwide to do so.

The training was based on Axon’s 'X26P' model, which is also used by domestic police. It consisted mainly of practical exercises including theoretical education, development of training scenarios and response strategies for various in-flight situations, shooting techniques, close-quarters response methods, scenario training based on the cabin environment, shooting and comprehensive evaluations, and virtual reality (VR)-based tactical training.

This training was the first joint security exercise under integrated preparedness, with cabin safety instructors from Asiana Airlines and Jin Air also participating. Ten cabin safety instructors from each airline will annually share methods for handling illegal acts onboard, including Taser usage, with their respective cabin crew during regular safety training.

Meanwhile, cabin crew members serve as security personnel onboard and are granted judicial police authority during emergencies. Passengers who refuse verbal warnings or notices and continue to cause disturbances can be subdued using onboard security equipment.

A Korean Air official stated, "Through this training, crew members will be able to acquire effective Taser usage skills as well as methods to respond to various unruly passenger situations onboard. We will continue to conduct more systematic and professional training and strive to strengthen aviation security."
