Hyundai Participates in New York Auto Show, Unveils Palisade for US Market

Palisade Makes North American Debut
Off-Road Focused 'XRT Pro' Model Unveiled

Hyundai Motor Company unveiled the new Palisade for the North American market for the first time at the '2025 New York International Auto Show' held on the 16th (local time) at the Jacob Javits Convention Center in New York, USA.

The Palisade, Hyundai's flagship large sport utility vehicle (SUV), is the second-generation complete redesign model newly introduced by Hyundai after six years. It secured product competitiveness befitting a flagship large SUV, including an exterior design with enhanced luxury, a more spacious interior, and Hyundai's first next-generation hybrid system.

Jose Munoz, CEO of Hyundai Motor Company, said, "New vehicles like the Palisade, which is newly introduced with both internal combustion and hybrid powertrains, are representative examples showing Hyundai's solid portfolio and diverse powertrain options."

He added, "Hyundai plans to expand its electric vehicle models to 21 by 2030 and increase hybrid models from the current 7 to 14. We aim to achieve annual sales of 2 million electric vehicles by 2030," sharing the company's future strategy.

The new Palisade offers ample interior space with an increase of 65 mm in overall length and 70 mm in wheelbase compared to the previous generation. The exterior design is evaluated as a bold reinterpretation of the Palisade's identity, starting from the vertical daytime running lights. The powertrain options include a 3.5-liter gasoline engine and a 2.5-liter turbo hybrid.

In particular, the hybrid model features EV-specialized technologies previously enjoyed only in dedicated electric vehicles, such as Stay Mode, which allows the use of functions like air conditioning and infotainment without starting the engine, and indoor V2L (Vehicle-to-Load) that provides power during outdoor activities like camping.

On the same day, Hyundai also unveiled the 'Palisade XRT Pro' for the first time in the world. The XRT Pro is a trim that maximizes off-road sensibility by significantly enhancing off-road performance and implementing a rugged design compared to the existing XRT trim. It is the first time this trim has been applied to the Palisade.

The Palisade XRT Pro improves off-road driving performance by applying electronic AWD, rear E-LSD (Electronic Limited Slip Differential), and 18-inch all-terrain tires. Additionally, it secures a minimum ground clearance of 212 mm, which is 25 mm higher than the base model, reducing underbody interference on rough terrain and providing advantages for off-road driving. It also enhances towing functionality by applying exposed front and rear towing hooks.

The Palisade and Palisade XRT Pro are scheduled to be released in the North American market in the second half of this year.
