2025 Scholarship Certificate Award Ceremony Held
Chairman Im Changwook: "Active Promotion of Educational Welfare"
On the 16th, the Daesang Cultural Foundation held the '2025 Scholarship Certificate Award Ceremony and Graduate Celebration' at the Westin Chosun Seoul Orchid Room, and announced on the 17th that it will provide scholarships totaling 1.25 billion KRW over one year to 270 university (graduate) students and middle and high school students.
The Daesang Cultural Foundation's scholarship program has focused on supporting university students in less popular majors such as humanities, basic sciences, and pure sciences. Since 2022, the program has expanded to include graduate students in future industries such as population health, climate environment, artificial intelligence, energy, and batteries, as well as fields like culture and arts, unification, and North Korean studies.
The program supporting Southeast Asian students studying in Korea, which has been in operation since 2008, emphasizes forming a friendly human network with Korea and nurturing global leaders. Additionally, the scholarship program for middle and high school students selects children from foster care households, basic livelihood security recipients and near-poverty families, multicultural families, and North Korean defector families to help them focus on their studies.
Im Chang-wook, Chairman of the Daesang Cultural Foundation, stated, "The Daesang Cultural Foundation has actively carried out educational welfare projects, including scholarship support, for the past 55 years to practice the group’s management philosophy of 'Respect.' We will continue to actively support many students so that they can grow into socially responsible members who exert positive influence through the foundation’s scholarship programs."
