Cooperation in Building Mutual Trade and Commerce Networks and Information Sharing in the Americas
MOU Signed with Atlanta Georgia Korean Chamber of Commerce on the Same Day, and with Utah Korean Chamber of Commerce on the 17th
Dobong-gu (Mayor Oh Eon-seok) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Atlanta chapter of the World-OKTA (World Federation of Overseas Korean Traders Associations) as the first official schedule in Atlanta.
This opens another pathway for Dobong-gu products to enter the global market.
Previously, in 2024, the district dispatched an overseas trade delegation to Los Angeles, USA, and signed an economic exchange and friendly cooperation agreement with the city of Fullerton in Los Angeles County.
Currently, the district is dispatching an overseas trade delegation to Atlanta, where the World Korean Business Convention is held, to support local small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in entering overseas markets.
During this Atlanta schedule, the district plans to participate in the World Korean Business Convention to promote local SME products, facilitate connections with overseas buyers, and sign MOUs with participating organizations and groups.
On the 15th (local time), the district signed an MOU with the Atlanta chapter of the World-OKTA at the Gwinnett Chamber of Commerce.
The signing ceremony was attended by Oh Eon-seok, Mayor of Dobong-gu, and Sun Park, President of the World-OKTA Atlanta chapter.
On that day, the two signed the agreement and promised to faithfully implement the contents based on mutual trust.
The agreement includes building mutual networks in trade and commerce within the Americas region, sharing information in trade and commerce sectors, promotional support for Dobong-gu support projects, and cooperation in venue and operation during events hosted by both organizations.
At the signing ceremony, President Sun Park said, "Through this agreement, we will do our best to cooperate so that Dobong-gu startup companies can move into the trade center planned to open in Atlanta. We hope practical exchanges between SMEs of both countries will expand in the future," adding, "We will be a reliable partner to help enter the U.S. market centered on Atlanta."
Mayor Oh Eon-seok of Dobong-gu said, "Through this agreement, I hope both organizations grow together and Dobong-gu companies successfully establish themselves in the U.S. market."
The district evaluated that this agreement created practical business opportunities. A district official stated, "Based on this agreement, we expect to introduce Dobong-gu companies' products to the U.S. market and expand product distribution networks using local networks."
On the same day, the district also signed an MOU with the Atlanta Georgia Korean Chamber of Commerce, and on the 17th, it plans to sign an MOU with the Utah Korean Chamber of Commerce. The district expects that the agreement with the Utah Korean Chamber of Commerce will enable market entry for Dobong-gu products in the Utah region.
