Cooperation Expected Between the 2025 Korea Garden Industry Expo in Jinju and the Seoul International Garden Expo
Jinju City, Gyeongnam Province, announced on the 17th that it has signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) in writing with Seoul Metropolitan Government for the creation of a friendship exchange garden between the two cities, aiming to ensure the successful hosting of the '2025 Korea Garden Industry Expo in Jinju' and the '2025 Seoul International Garden Expo,' as well as to promote garden culture exchange between Jinju and Seoul.
Through this agreement, the two cities will go beyond simple administrative cooperation to expand cultural exchange through gardens and will present exchange gardens that harmonize nature and urban space at both expos.
First, Jinju City will create a specialized garden under the theme 'A Garden Like Jinju, Jinju in the Garden' at Boramae Park in Seoul, where the '2025 Seoul International Garden Expo' will be held in May. The garden will symbolize the Nam River, which flows through the center of Jinju, as the main pathway and will incorporate Jinju's representative character, Hamo, to reflect the city's identity.
Seoul City will create a garden reflecting the philosophy and direction of Seoul as a garden city at Chojon Park, the venue for the '2025 Korea Garden Industry Expo in Jinju,' from June 13 to 22. Through this, the two cities plan to share garden culture and establish a platform for cooperation toward the development of the garden industry.
During the '2025 Korea Garden Industry Expo,' a variety of garden exhibitions and hands-on events will be provided, offering visitors the opportunity to enjoy the beauty of gardens and envision the future of the garden industry together.
A city official stated, "The 2025 Korea Garden Industry Expo will be an opportunity for Jinju City to leap forward as the center of Korea's garden culture and industry," adding, "We hope that many citizens and visitors will show interest and participate."
