Flower Sharing at Gwanghwamun Station Subway on the Morning Commute of the 17th

On the morning of the 17th, a flower-sharing event will be held at Gwanghwamun Station to cheer on commuters and announce the arrival of spring.

Seoul Metro (President Baek Ho) announced that on the morning of the 17th at 8 a.m., it will hold a free flower pot giveaway event for the first 1,000 citizens using Gwanghwamun Station.

This event, organized jointly by the Metro and the Goyang International Flower Expo Foundation, was prepared to support commuters at the start of their day and to promote the use of public transportation during the spring outing season.

The flower giveaway will take place in the concourse area near Exit 3 of Line 5 at Gwanghwamun Station. Along with the distribution of 'Ranunculus' flower pots, which are also used in bouquets, a campaign to promote public transportation usage will be conducted simultaneously.

Ranunculus is a plant belonging to the buttercup family and is used in bouquets. Its flower language symbolizes charm and fascination. It carries the meaning of supporting the daily lives of citizens who shine with charm on warm spring days.

There is also an ongoing citizen invitation event offering tickets to the '2025 Goyang International Flower Expo,' which will be held for 17 days from April 25 to May 11. To participate in the event, visit the 'Citizen Participation' section on the Metro’s official website. The Metro will select 250 people by lottery from the applicants and provide a total of 500 tickets, two per person.

The citizen invitation event for the 'Goyang International Flower Expo,' which started on the 8th, is open for applications until the 16th, and the winners will be announced on the 17th through a lottery.

Additionally, citizens who visit the Goyang International Flower Expo using public transportation will receive a 3,000 KRW discount when purchasing tickets on-site.

Na In-ho, head of public relations at Seoul Metro, said, "We prepared this event to express gratitude and support to citizens starting their day and to let them feel the warm spring atmosphere," adding, "We hope many will use the eco-friendly Seoul subway when going on spring outings."
