Busan National University (President Choi Jaewon) signed a memorandum of understanding with Busan Urban Corporation on the morning of the 16th at the university headquarters to improve the quality of life and strengthen housing welfare for residents of long-term public rental housing.

Through this agreement, the two institutions will jointly: △ make efforts to improve the residential environment and housing welfare of Busan citizens; △ conduct joint research to enhance the living environment and housing welfare in the corporation's long-term public rental housing; △ share educational and research resources such as data and systems; △ support field training and education for students to foster professionals in the field of housing welfare; and △ collaborate on research, education, consulting, and mutual promotion based in the local community.

Busan National University plans to propose practical solutions for improving the residential environment based on academic expertise, while Busan Urban Corporation will share field-based data to increase the applicability of policies, thereby establishing an effective cooperation model that connects academia and the field.

In particular, the Department of Interior Environmental Design at Busan National University will link the current issues of Busan Urban Corporation to its curriculum, seeking ways to improve the residential environment and housing welfare in rental housing through design projects, evidence-based research, field training, and hackathon programs. This will enhance students' practical skills and contribute to the local community.

With this agreement, the two institutions plan to expand a sustainable, practice-oriented industry-academia cooperation network under the shared goal of improving the quality of life for residents of public rental housing in the region.
